According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Kyrgyzstan has been granted tariff benefits for the import of raw materials for sugar production.

This decision was made in Moscow during a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council. Under this decision, Kyrgyzstan is allowed to import 20,000 tons of raw cane sugar duty-free until December 31, 2026. This measure is aimed at supporting local processors and stabilizing sugar prices in the domestic market.

Additionally, the EEC Council approved a draft protocol to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, which proposes the implementation of a financial assistance mechanism for interstate cooperative programs in the agro-industrial sector, funded from the union's budget.

The ministry noted that such an instrument previously operated only for industrial cooperation, and now it is planned to extend it to agricultural projects.
