At the plenary session of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 5, 2026, Deputy Suyunbek Omurzakov raised an important issue regarding the rising rental prices for housing in Kyrgyzstan. He urged the Cabinet of Ministers to develop measures that could enhance the availability of rental housing for families with limited financial means.

“Recently, there has been an increase in the number of construction projects in the country, which is undoubtedly a positive development. However, the cost of renting housing remains high compared to neighboring countries. How can we improve this situation?” the deputy expressed his concern.

In response, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, reported that a program based on Islamic principles is being implemented in collaboration with the State Investment Committee (GIK), which includes a rental mechanism with the option of subsequent privatization.

Amangeldiev also noted that agreements have been reached with the Islamic Fund for financing the project.

“We agreed with the Islamic Fund on a sum of 200 million, and they have agreed to increase it to 400 million. We are confident that these investments will pay off,” he added.
