In Naryn, a meeting was held with the Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanat Sagynbaev, and the parents of children receiving services at the "Meikin" rehabilitation center.
According to the press service of the ministry, this center offers comprehensive support to children with mental disorders and young people with disabilities, training parents and preparing personal assistants, which contributes to improving the quality and accessibility of rehabilitation services.
During the meeting, parents discussed important issues such as the need to create rehabilitation centers in every region, adapting educational programs in general education schools, increasing the number of teachers and raising their salaries, as well as supporting single mothers raising children with disabilities. An important point was also the development of sports and leisure programs for special children in various regions.
Kanat Sagynbaev emphasized that the development of rehabilitation services is a priority task for the state and called for active cooperation between parents and public organizations to form and implement initiatives through the activities of non-profit organizations.
The minister also noted that parents should participate more actively in the mechanism of state social orders, jointly with NGOs and social protection authorities to develop projects and submit them for state support.
“We are interested in turning local initiatives into real projects capable of changing the lives of children and their families,” the minister added.
