In the Jogorku Kenesh, attention was drawn to the need to improve support for families caring for children with disabilities
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev raised an important issue regarding assistance for people with disabilities and their caregivers.
In his opinion, citizens with disabilities are full-fledged members of society, and the state is obligated to provide them with the necessary support. He emphasized that assistance for this group of the population must be significantly strengthened.
Although, according to Mamataliyev, benefits are gradually increasing, their amount still does not allow people to lead a full life.
“An assistant receives only 7,000 soms. This is extremely little for survival. If there are relatives in the family who can help, then it is possible to manage somehow. But if there is no help, it is extremely difficult to live on this amount,” the deputy noted.
He called on responsible state structures to reconsider their approaches to supporting people with disabilities and their assistants, paying more attention to this issue.
