As of December 31, 2025, there were 19 insurance (reinsurance) companies operating in the country, of which 14 are fully owned by Kyrgyz investors, while 5 have participation from foreign investors. The Service noted that the increase in the share of companies with Kyrgyz capital (74% of the total) indicates progress in the development of the national financial system and an increase in trust in domestic insurance.
Additionally, the equity capital of insurance companies grew by 12.7%, while liabilities increased by 7.6%, indicating moderate growth rates. The decrease in insurance reserves by 21.6% is related to changes in the asset structure and an increase in insurance payouts, which corresponds to the current market dynamics. Tax revenues from the activities of insurers amounted to 340.8 million soms.
