At the meeting held on February 9, 2026, in the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bekmurza Ergeshov raised the issue of how all regions of the country are taken into account when setting milk prices.

He noted that official data most often mention the Chui, Naryn, Talas, and Issyk-Kul regions, and inquired whether there is information regarding the Osh region.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev responded that in the Osh region, the purchase price of raw milk is 39 soms per liter.

In turn, Ergeshov pointed out that in the Chui region, the price of milk ranges from 36 to 47 soms per liter, while in Naryn it ranges from 35 to 36 soms per liter. He emphasized that the high-altitude conditions of the Naryn region contribute to increased milk fat content.

Kerimaliev added that milk fat content is determined not only by climatic conditions but also by the breed of cows. According to him, milk from purebred livestock has a higher fat content compared to milk from regular commercial cows, which has lower indicators.

The deputy also inquired about the ratio between imports and domestic production of dairy products. The deputy minister reported that Kyrgyzstan fully meets its dairy product needs by 127%.

According to the information provided, the republic exports 100.5 thousand tons of raw milk, while imports amount to only about 1 thousand tons.
