- The wheat harvest forecast for Russia and Kazakhstan, presented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in February, has not changed compared to the January data. The new report is available on the agency's website.

In Russia, the harvest is expected to be 89.5 million tons, while in Kazakhstan, this figure is projected at 18.9 million tons. For comparison, last season's harvest in Russia was 81.6 million tons, and in Kazakhstan, it was 18.6 million tons.

Reference information:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture forms its harvest forecasts based on the so-called "marketing year," which differs from the calendar year. This period determines the timing of the harvest's sale and is calculated separately for each crop in each producing country.

For Russian wheat, the marketing year covers 12 months, starting from July of the current year and ending in June of the following year. Meanwhile, for Kazakhstan, this period starts in September and ends in August of the following year.

It is worth noting that for Kyrgyzstan, the majority of imported wheat comes specifically from Russia and Kazakhstan.
