
During the meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 16, Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akjolov answered a question from Deputy Dastan Bekeshev, providing fresh information about the state debt. Currently, the total amount of Kyrgyzstan's state debt is 8 billion 850 million dollars.
Of this amount, 5.2 billion dollars is accounted for by external borrowings, while the internal debt of the republic to local creditors and holders of government securities amounts to 3.5 billion dollars. This data has become an important topic for discussion regarding the financial sustainability of the budget for the current year.
