Kazakhstan Became the Leader of the EAEU in Gasoline Price Growth

According to information from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Kazakhstan became the leader among the EAEU countries in 2025 for the growth of retail gasoline prices, which increased by 15.7 percent from January to December. This was reported by Orda.kz.

In second place was Kyrgyzstan with a price increase of 15.1 percent, while Russia took third place with an increase of 10.8 percent. In Belarus, the cost of gasoline rose by 6.7 percent, whereas Armenia saw a price decrease of 0.8 percent. Overall, the growth across the EAEU was 11.1 percent.

In 2026, Russia plans to supply Kyrgyzstan with 1.5 million tons of petroleum products.
Diesel fuel also became more expensive in Kazakhstan, rising by 14.1 percent, which was the highest rate among the allied countries. Kyrgyzstan follows with an increase of 11.1 percent, Russia with 8.3 percent, while in Belarus the growth was 6.6 percent. Armenia, on the other hand, recorded a price decrease of 0.9 percent. On average, the price increase for diesel fuel across the EAEU was 8.8 percent.

Electricity, in turn, saw the highest price increase in Kyrgyzstan — by 20.9 percent. Russia ranks second with an increase of 13.1 percent, and Belarus is third with a growth of 11.9 percent. Kazakhstan is in fourth place with an increase of 8 percent. In Armenia, the growth was only 0.1 percent, while the overall figure for the EAEU reached 12.6 percent.

Starting in 2026, a unified oil and petroleum products market is planned to be introduced within the EAEU, which should help equalize prices among the member countries. Currently, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy continues to enforce a ban on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel, including supplies to other EAEU countries, except for pre-agreed volumes.
