Recently, a conference was held at the Eurasian Economic Commission, where the possibilities of applying artificial intelligence in the antimonopoly regulation of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed.

According to the press service of the EEC, the participants of the event emphasized the role that AI can play in enhancing the efficiency of entrepreneurs and the mechanisms of antimonopoly control. Participants highlighted the need to develop unified approaches to the implementation of this technology.

Maxim Ermolovich, a member of the board for competition and antimonopoly regulation at the EEC, stated that the EAEU countries aim not only to study AI as a subject of regulation but also to actively integrate it into the analytical activities of regulatory authorities.

“Artificial intelligence should not just be a subject of our analysis and control, but a crucial tool for automating routine processes and deepening analytics, which will allow for the early identification of risks of violating common competition rules,” he noted.
