The press service of the Ministry of Finance reported that the Open Joint Stock Company "State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic" is acting as a financial partner in the implementation of a project to construct six hydropower plants and one solar power plant.

The total cost of these initiatives amounts to 21.6 billion soms. The installed capacity of the new facilities will reach 148.3 megawatts, which will allow for the generation of 629.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

According to the department's information, these projects will help close about 16% of the existing electricity deficit in the country and will also strengthen the reliability of the national energy system.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance noted that the implementation of these projects will create new jobs, increase tax revenues, and contribute to infrastructure development, including roads and power transmission lines.

"The development of green energy will not only reduce the carbon footprint but will also open up new opportunities for irrigation in the agricultural sector," the department added.
