Residents of the village of Muras in the Leilek district are waiting for the launch of the water supply system
The implementation of a project to create new infrastructure for providing the village of Muras with drinking water is nearing completion in the Batken region. According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, this project is being carried out as part of a program to improve water supply services considering climate changes. As of today, construction work is in the final stage, and more than 3,000 residents will soon have access to safe drinking water.

During the large-scale modernization, key elements of the system were updated: new reservoirs for storing purified water were built, modern chlorination stations were installed, and a complete reconstruction of water intake facilities was conducted. The total length of the new main water pipelines and distribution networks exceeds 17 kilometers.

After the system is put into operation, 537 households, corresponding to 3,408 residents, will be connected to the centralized water supply. This new system not only fully meets sanitary requirements but is also designed for a long service life, which will significantly simplify the management of water resources in this region. The construction is being monitored by the Project Implementation Department of the relevant Department under the Ministry of Agriculture.
