From March 20 to April 10, 2026, a nationwide agricultural census will take place in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by Elmira Alymkulova, head of the apparatus of the National Statistical Committee of the KR, on the radio.

“This census is of great importance, as we strive to obtain a complete picture of the state of agriculture. This includes data on the number of farms, livestock population, availability of buildings, agricultural machinery, as well as the use of technologies and resources,” noted Alymkulova.

She added that the collected data will help form an objective agricultural policy and properly plan investments in this sector.

“For the successful conduct of this large-scale event, we need to establish close cooperation with government bodies and local self-government bodies that are responsible for its implementation,” she emphasized.

The census will be fully transitioned to an electronic format.

“We will use mobile applications for enumerators, and all collected data will be transmitted to the central server of the National Statistical Committee. This server is protected by all modern means of communication, which guarantees the security and speed of information processing,” Alymkulova reported.

In the preparatory process, training for employees of the central apparatus for the city of Bishkek and the Chui region is underway. Recruitment of enumerators, registrars, instructors, controllers, and coordinators is already in progress at the local level. A total of 6,791 temporary workers are planned to be hired, with their salaries to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
