In a recent report by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), Kyrgyzstan ranks 47th in the Sustainable Development Goals index and 78th in the Energy Transition Index (ETI), which is published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF). These data pertain to the energy sector in Central Asia.

The study highlights that Kyrgyzstan demonstrates more impressive results compared to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, indicating achievements in sustainable development and the transition to new energy sources.

The authors of the report note that despite the risks associated with seasonality and limited reserves of the country's hydropower system, Kyrgyzstan holds high positions in terms of environmental sustainability.
