- The Ministry of Agriculture has been appointed as the executor for the introduction of 35,000 hectares of low-productive pastures into agricultural circulation. This measure is part of the Cabinet's action plan.

The development period is scheduled from the first quarter of 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2030.

Of the planned area, 10,000 hectares will be allocated for fruit plantations.

The process of developing low-productive pastures will be carried out through the organization of fruit plantations and the development of agricultural production.

According to estimates from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the total area of pastures in the country is 9.15 million hectares. The Fund notes that due to the mountainous terrain, herders are forced to regularly move livestock between winter pastures located in the foothills and summer high-altitude pastures. This is necessary, especially during periods of heavy snowfall when access to high-altitude lands becomes difficult. IFAD also reports that more than 4.5 million hectares, which is about half of all pastures, are in a state of degradation. The main factors contributing to the deterioration of pastures include overgrazing, a temperature increase of 2–3°C, a rise in precipitation by 12–18%, and the frequency of mudflows occurring 7–10 times a year.
