According to the publication "Kommersant," the Ministry of Finance of Russia has proposed an initiative to legalize online casinos in the country.

It has become known that the proposal was sent to President Vladimir Putin by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

If the initiative is implemented, a tax rate of 30% is planned, which could generate about 100 billion rubles in budget revenue annually.

Currently, online casinos are banned in Russia, and only bookmakers and totalizators are allowed to conduct gambling activities online legally.

According to the document from the Ministry of Finance, it is proposed to lift the ban on organizing online casinos, but under certain conditions. Among them is the appointment of the operator of this activity by presidential decree, as well as the creation of a mechanism for tracking bets through a Unified Center, similar to the one used by bookmakers.

Additionally, the proposal also mentions empowering online casino operators to prevent gambling addiction.
