EEC: The Coverage of External Debt by Reserves in EAEU Countries Has Increased

- According to information provided by the Eurasian Economic Commission, as of October 1, 2025, all member states of the EAEU demonstrated an increase in the coverage of external debt by reserves.

The highest coverage is observed in Russia, where this indicator reaches 231.5%. In other EAEU countries, the situation looks different: Armenia has a level of only 24.1%, while Kyrgyzstan stands at 58.3%.

Since 2010, external debt in the region's countries has significantly increased: in Armenia, it has grown 2.8 times, in Belarus by 1.3 times, in Kazakhstan by 1.4 times, and in Kyrgyzstan by 2.6 times.

At the same time, in Russia, there has been a trend of decreasing external debt since 2014, and as of October 1, 2025, its amount was 63.1% of the level in 2010.
