- In the Sokuluk district of the Chui region, the construction of an electric vehicle manufacturing plant will begin. This information is included in the work plan of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026.

According to the provided data, the electric vehicle assembly plant is expected to be put into operation no later than September 30, 2026, with private investments involved.

The responsibility for the implementation of the project has been assigned to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the presidential representative office in the Chui region, and the National Investment Agency.

Additionally, the document states that by December 30, certification of electric vehicles produced in Kyrgyzstan is planned. This is necessary to obtain production certificates for electric vehicles from the manufacturing plants. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry have been designated as the executors of this stage, with funding to be provided from the republican budget.

Background

In 2024, the head of the industrial policy department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Arslan Baziyev, stated in an interview with the radio that an automobile plant would be launched in Sokuluk in 2025, producing cars under a Kyrgyz brand.

According to Arslan Baziyev, the construction of the plant is being carried out in collaboration with the Chinese company Jaecoo.
