In the Nooken district, members of the women's cell of 'Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami' were detained

In the Jalal-Abad region, specifically in the Nooken district, participants of the women's wing of the religious extremist organization 'Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami' were arrested, according to information from the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.

Experts from the service established that the detainees were actively involving young women under the pretext of teaching sewing, while simultaneously instilling the ideology of the banned organization. The leaders of the cell also participated in closed Telegram channels, disseminated extremist literature, and discussed plans for establishing a caliphate in Kyrgyzstan.

During searches at the addresses of the detainees, significant volumes of prohibited literature were found, as well as electronic devices, including computers, flash drives, and mobile phones.

On January 29, 2026, five women associated with the extremist organization were detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. The investigation into this case is currently ongoing.

The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reminds that participation in the activities of religious extremist organizations and the dissemination of extremist materials entails criminal liability.
