Found hanged with his own pants: Kumarbek Abdyrov, accused of a series of rapes and murders, died in pre-trial detention center No. 1

Kumarbek Abdyrov, who is a suspect in the murder of 17-year-old Aysulu Mukasheva, died in pre-trial detention center No. 1.

According to the press service of the State Penitentiary Service, the incident occurred in one of the detention facilities.

According to the information from the SPS, on February 7, 2026, at 12:30 PM, inside the cell, the accused, known as A.K.K., was found hanged with his pants, which were hooked onto the door grate. Despite attempts to provide medical assistance, his life could not be saved.

An investigative operational group from the SPS was dispatched to the scene, working together with representatives of the prosecutor's office to ensure legality within the institutions. Necessary materials were collected regarding the incident and registered in the established manner. A forensic examination has also been planned, and a pre-investigation check is currently underway.

It is known that Kumarbek Abdyrov was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1 on December 17, 2025, from the main department of internal affairs of Bishkek.

For reference: his detention occurred on September 30, 2025, when officers of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region accused him of committing a crime under part 2 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, with a decision made on October 1, 2025. Later, the detention period was extended until March 29, 2026.

It is also worth noting that the accused was under investigation for a series of rapes and murders of girls whom he picked up in his taxi. Among his victims were Kamila Duyshbaeva and Aysulu Mukasheva.
