- The Deputy Ministers of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Iskender Asylkulov and Benazir Nurlanova, organized a meeting with representatives of relevant government agencies and the sewing industry, as reported by the ministry's press service.

This meeting was a response to the protocol instruction from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, given on January 21, 2026, regarding current issues in the sewing sector and support for the socially oriented sector of the economy.

As a result of the discussion, decisions were formulated on several key issues:

- access to financing for logistics corridors;

- improvement of conditions for the export of products;

- resolution of issues related to attracting foreign specialists;

- construction of a modern laboratory for the industry.

Background:

As reported by representatives of the sewing industry, since September 15, 2025, the Russian side has begun active inspections of light industry products coming from Kyrgyzstan.

Against the backdrop of these inspections, businessmen expressed concerns, stating that "at least 4–5 thousand sewing workshops" would close. However, this information was denied by the Cabinet.
