- In Munich, at the security conference, Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, commented on a recent Bloomberg article discussing potential sanctions from the European Union against Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Amangeldiev provided clarifications regarding the situation that arose after the publication in January, which claimed that the EU might impose new restrictions on Kyrgyzstan.

He emphasized that the government of Kyrgyzstan is actively working with David O'Sullivan, the EU Special Envoy for Sanctions, to discuss this important issue.

According to Amangeldiev, the choice of Kyrgyzstan as a target for EU sanctions raises serious concerns and aligns with the principle of "hit the small so the big are afraid," which the Kyrgyz side categorically disagrees with," the press service added.

At the end of January, Bloomberg reported that the EU is preparing a new package of sanctions that may include a ban on the supply of equipment and machinery to Kyrgyzstan as part of measures against Moscow.
