The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh heard information on the epidemiological situation regarding hepatitis in the republic.

During the discussion, Deputy Zhyldyz Egenberdieva emphasized the importance of accelerating the screening program for hepatitis B and C, as well as creating a corresponding registry. She noted that vaccination should only be conducted after laboratory tests are performed.

The issue of ensuring the population has access to clean drinking water was raised by Deputy Nurjamal Torobekova, pointing to this as one of the main reasons for the increase in infectious diseases.

Committee Chair Gulsunkan Junushalieva highlighted the need to strengthen preventive measures and to provide medical institutions with necessary medications, reagents, and vaccines. Director of the Republican Center for the Control of Hemocontact Viruses and HIV Umutkan Chokmorova added that 492 million soms have been allocated for these purposes for the year 2026.

Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova stressed the importance of enhancing the scientific and analytical potential of the National Institute of Public Health and the necessity of informing the public about cases of vaccine refusal. Deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu proposed improving the mechanisms of social protection for citizens suffering from hepatitis.

Deputy Bolotbek Borbieyev also reported concerns from the residents of the city of Tash-Kumyr regarding the rise in cases of viral hepatitis in this locality, pointing out the lack of access to clean water as one of the main reasons. He urged all responsible authorities to take measures to address this issue.
