In 2021, Lamborghini announced its intention to transition to hybrid and electric technologies. In 2023, the concept of the Lanzador was unveiled, representing a fully "green" supercar. However, Stefan Winkelmann now expresses the opinion that this initiative has turned into an "expensive hobby," which does not meet the expectations of the brand's target audience, according to media reports.

Stefan Winkelmann noted that the company is halting the development of fully electric vehicles and will focus on producing hybrids that can be charged from the power grid. If customers are satisfied, by 2030 the entire model range will be replaced with hybrid versions. At the same time, Lamborghini will continue to produce cars with traditional engines "for as long as possible."

He emphasized that investing in electric vehicles in a market where customers are not yet ready is a financially impractical decision. Hybrid models combine the best of both technologies: the power and emotional appeal of gasoline engines with the agility and acceleration of electric cars.

In 2025, Lamborghini managed to achieve a record number of car sales – 10,747 units. The company believes that this success was achieved thanks to its hybridization strategy, which has been positively received by customers, especially in Europe and North America. In particular, this refers to the new hybrid models: the supercars Revuelto and Temerario.
