On January 22, 2026, in the Omsk region, at the phytosanitary control post "Isilkulsky," an attempt to illegally import a batch of walnuts from Kyrgyzstan was thwarted, according to reports from Russian media.
Employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, together with a mobile group from the Omsk customs, stopped a minibus in which 160 kg of quarantine products with a high phytosanitary risk were discovered.
During the inspection, it was revealed that the cargo was being transported across the border without the necessary phytosanitary certificate, which confirms its safety and compliance with the quarantine standards of the Russian Federation. The absence of such documents poses a serious threat to the spread of dangerous quarantine organisms in this region. The driver of the minibus was held administratively liable under Article 10.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, and the cargo was returned to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the supervision of the relevant officials, as stated in the report.
