According to information provided to the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh by the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan, Almaz Saliev, a customs officer from Kyrgyzstan will be working at the border with Russia. His task will be to check cargo carriers arriving from Central Asian countries.

Saliev noted that this employee will be included in the mobile group responsible for monitoring transportation. The decision regarding his appointment was made in cooperation with the Russian customs authorities.

“We have already developed an operational algorithm for the officer, which is currently under review by our Russian colleagues. This customs representative will interact with Russian specialists to quickly resolve any potential document issues that our entrepreneurs may encounter. The Russian side has expressed verbal agreement, but an official response has not yet been received,” he added.

It should be noted that Russia is strengthening control over imports to prevent the influx of "grey imports" into its territory.

Starting in 2026, the Federal Customs Service of Russia plans to implement new mechanisms to combat grey imports within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

One of the main innovations will be the requirement for mandatory official confirmation from the Russian buyer—tax resident. Without such confirmation, cargoes will not be able to be processed and imported into Russia.
