Zakharova noted that there was no clear statement in Solovyov's words, but rather a rhetorical question he posed during his broadcast: "It wasn't a statement, it was more of a question, I'm not sure if it was rhetorical or something else."
“His phrases were presented in a provocative manner, as if they represented the official viewpoint of Russia, which is absolutely unacceptable. Our historical ties with the South Caucasus and Central Asia are based on good-neighborly relations and brotherly friendship,” she added.
It is worth noting that Solovyov's remarks provoked public resonance. In one of his recent broadcasts, he expressed the opinion that Russia, similar to the USA in Venezuela, could "ignore international law" and consider a military intervention in the affairs of Armenia and Central Asian countries to keep them within Russia's "sphere of influence."
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to these words, stating that such remarks do not correspond to the spirit of friendship between Moscow and Yerevan.
Additionally, deputy Dastan Bekeshev suggested recognizing Solovyov as a persona non grata. In turn, the press secretary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askhat Alagozov, called for ignoring the TV host's words.
