Vladimir Solovyov, a well-known Russian television host, expressed his opinion on the program "Solovyov Live" on January 10, stating that Central Asia belongs to Russia, and also suggested the possibility of conducting a special military operation (SMO) in regions under Moscow's influence. He expressed concern over the loss of Armenia, calling it a "gigantic problem" for Russia.

During the discussion of U.S. military activity in Venezuela and Trump's claims on Greenland, Solovyov emphasized that America ignores international norms and seizes what it likes. However, he stressed that for Russia, the most important issues are those in the near abroad.

“We should not be distracted by Venezuela or Syria. We have more pressing issues concerning our security, and the loss of Armenia is a real catastrophe. Problems in Central Asia could pose a serious threat to us,” he stated.

Solovyov also noted that Russia needs to clearly define its goals and objectives, as well as declare an end to the "games." “If we started the SMO in Ukraine due to national security issues, then why not do the same in other regions of our influence?” the television host questioned.

He proposed developing a national doctrine that would clearly define Russia's spheres of influence. In response to these statements, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a note of protest to the Russian ambassador, expressing "deep indignation" regarding the words spoken on the state television channel.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that such statements represent an "unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia" and grossly violate the principles of friendly relations between the two countries.
