
Machado noted that during her meeting with President Trump, she reminded him of how 200 years ago General Lafayette presented a medal depicting George Washington to Simón Bolívar. “This medal became a symbol that never left Bolívar. Now, two centuries later, the people of Bolívar are presenting the Nobel Prize to the President of the United States as a sign of recognition of his commitment to our freedom,” she said.
According to her, Donald Trump shows full support for the freedom of political prisoners in Venezuela and understands the significance of the country as a potential ally for the United States.
It is worth noting that according to the rules of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the Nobel Prize cannot be transferred or revoked.
