At a meeting with representatives of major energy companies such as Chevron, Shell, and Exxon, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed his readiness to sell Venezuelan oil to China and Russia. "We are open for business. The People's Republic of China can purchase any amount of oil from us, both on its territory and in the United States. Russia will also be able to receive all the necessary volumes from us," Trump noted, as reported by DW.

During the same meeting, Trump explained the reasons why the U.S. is taking measures to control oil extraction in Venezuela: "If we hadn't done this, there would be China and Russia there."

Earlier, the president announced on his social network Truth Social plans to invest at least $100 billion in the Venezuelan oil sector. It is expected that the investments will come from American companies, and the U.S. government will conduct negotiations with Venezuelan authorities.

After the overthrow of Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela, Trump stated that the management of the country would effectively pass into the hands of Washington. According to him, the interim authorities of Venezuela will transfer up to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States, which is equivalent to about $2.8 billion at market value.

Trump added that he would "personally oversee" the sale of this oil to "ensure that the revenues benefit both the Venezuelan and American peoples."
