At a press conference in the White House, Trump responded to a question about the possibility of an operation to capture Putin. He emphasized that he sees no need for this, considering that he has developed good relations with the Russian president. He stated this in response to a journalist's question.

This statement came against the backdrop of a recent U.S. operation in Venezuela, where American troops captured Nicolás Maduro, which attracted global attention. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously noted that if such methods are effective with dictators, then the U.S. might consider its further actions.

A journalist asked Trump directly whether he would order the capture of Putin.

In response, Trump said: "I don't think it's necessary. We have always had good relations."

In Trump's opinion, Putin does not fear Europe but is wary of the U.S., which he leads. "He has no fear of Europe. It's lagging behind. It needs to get its act together," he added.

The U.S. president also expressed hope for a swift resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. "I wish we could resolve this issue much faster, as many people, mostly soldiers, are losing their lives," he noted.

Recall that on January 3, an operation was conducted in Venezuela, during which American special forces captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. Two days later, they were charged in New York with "narcoterrorism," conspiracy to import cocaine into the U.S., and illegal possession of weapons. Maduro and Flores did not plead guilty; the next court hearing is scheduled for March 17.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump also spoke about his plans to conduct a ground operation in Mexico, claiming that the U.S. intends to start attacks on the drug cartels controlling the country.
