Clemence Goutte, Vice-President of the National Assembly of France, announced plans to put a resolution regarding the country's exit from NATO to a vote. This statement was a reaction to the unfriendly actions taken by the United States. The politician shared her intentions on the social network X.

“It is time to seriously consider France's role in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which is governed by the United States and serves their interests. I propose to discuss a resolution that will call for a planned exit of France from NATO, starting with its unified command,” she wrote.

The reasons for such a step, according to Goutte, were the recent actions and statements of the American leadership, which she detailed. Goutte also condemned the U.S. for “supporting genocide in Palestine” and “bombings that violate international law.”

However, in 2009, under President Nicolas Sarkozy, France fully restored its membership in NATO.
