Delcy Rodriguez took the oath as interim president of Venezuela

Delcy Rodriguez, acting Vice President of Venezuela, has officially assumed the role of interim president of the country, TASS reports. The ceremony took place in the parliament building, where she was received by Chairman Jorge Rodriguez.

At the event, which was broadcast on Telesur, Rodriguez stated: “I came here as the vice president appointed by the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, to take the oath. This event causes me pain due to the suffering that the Venezuelan people have experienced as a result of the illegal military aggression against our country.”

It should be noted that on January 3, the United States conducted an operation against Venezuela, during which President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured in Caracas.
