Mao Ning, the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China, and issues related to Taiwan are exclusively internal affairs of the country. This statement was made at a briefing in response to comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

She noted: "The resolution of issues related to Taiwan is a matter for the Chinese people, and there is no room for external interference here."

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump expressed the opinion that Xi Jinping would not take military action against Taiwan while he is in office as President of the United States. He added that the final decision on the Taiwan issue should be made by the Chinese leader himself, but also warned Beijing that aggressive actions could provoke a negative reaction from Washington.

China has repeatedly emphasized that it considers Taiwan part of its territory, and the "One China" principle is a prerequisite for countries intending to establish or maintain diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China.
