Clemence Guete, serving as the vice-chair of the lower house of the French parliament, announced her intention to put to a vote a resolution calling for the country's withdrawal from NATO. She wrote about this on her page on X.

According to Guete, the issue of France's membership in NATO, a military alliance led by the United States, is becoming increasingly relevant. She proposed to consider a resolution that calls for the country's exit from the North Atlantic Alliance, starting with its participation in the unified command.

The politician noted that her views have been shaped by recent actions of Washington on the world stage, including the incident involving the attempt by American forces to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Additionally, Guete condemned the military support provided by the U.S., which she believes contributes to the "genocide in Palestine," and criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks about a possible annexation of Greenland.

Earlier, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, expressed the opinion that the U.S. is moving away from international norms. He criticized Washington's foreign policy during Trump's presidency, stating that the United States is distancing itself from its allies and risks becoming a "den of robbers."
