Danish Prime Minister Calls on Trump to Stop Threats Against Greenland

The Prime Minister emphasized that threats against Greenland must be stopped. According to her, "talking about the United States seizing Greenland is absolutely inappropriate." Frederiksen noted that the U.S. has no right to annex any of the countries that are part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

She also added that Greenland and its people have clearly expressed their position that they are not for sale, and called on Washington to cease such threats directed against "a historically close ally and people."

Previously, Trump claimed that control over Greenland is necessary for U.S. security.

"Greenland is surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships. We need it for defense," said the U.S. President.
