The press secretary of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Askhat Alagozov, commented on the recent statements made by Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov, which have caused a wide public outcry.

Alagozov reported that he has been receiving numerous questions from media representatives regarding whether there will be an official response from the Kyrgyz authorities to Solovyov's words. In this regard, he decided to provide a general clarification.

In his opinion, such statements are merely empty and frivolous remarks that were made during Solovyov's lengthy television broadcasts covering various topics.

As for a possible reaction, Alagozov noted that since Solovyov is a journalist, it is the journalistic community or other interested parties that should respond to his words.

The situation would change if similar statements were made by a deputy or a minister; in that case, representatives of the Kyrgyz authorities would respond.

The press secretary also mentioned a proposal from one of the deputies to declare Solovyov a persona non grata, adding that there is an established procedure for this, and it will be interesting to see how this issue is resolved.

It is important to emphasize that bilateral and multilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as with other Central Asian countries, are at a high level.

This is confirmed by mutual visits and cooperation within organizations such as the CIS, EAEU, and SCO.

Alagozov also noted that such assumptions have no basis. Nevertheless, considering that Solovyov works for state television, his statements, which can provoke tension, cause misunderstandings among citizens of friendly countries and, in some cases, require more serious responses. "We hope that his leadership will take appropriate measures," concluded the press secretary.
