The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of justice, law enforcement, the fight against crime and corruption, approved the president's objections regarding the law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic" at its meeting on January 13.

These amendments affected provisions of the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Timur Shabdanbekov stated that the agency has its own proposals regarding this law, which will be taken into account.

Additionally, Deputy Prosecutor General Malik Bekturganov noted that certain objections were raised concerning Article 5 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which pertains to the definition of the term "applicant." He clarified: "Article 148 of the Criminal Procedure Code states that all applications must be included in the Unified Register of Crimes. However, it also states that if the application does not meet the established requirements, a criminal case may not be initiated." The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Erkebek Ashirkhodzhaev also expressed his opinion, emphasizing that such provisions violate the principles of a full and comprehensive investigation.
