Russia rejected the request for the repatriation of 144 citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving prison sentences in Russian jails. This was reported by Deputy Attorney General Үмүткан Конкубаева during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of the judicial system, law enforcement, the fight against crime, and corruption.

Deputy Uluqbek Uzakbaev asked whether having a permanent representation of the General Prosecutor's Office in Russia would expedite the process, considering that currently all requests are submitted in writing. He also inquired if there had been cases where translation was denied.

In response, Конкубаева confirmed that such refusals did indeed occur. Specifically, out of 449 requests sent, 144 were rejected as they did not meet the conditions of the agreement or involved serious crimes, including murders and other grave offenses.

Uzakbaev pointed out that having a representation could help resolve issues on the ground. In response, Конкубаева noted that this issue had already been discussed, and only the problem of salary payments remains unresolved.
