At the meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to labor, health, women's affairs, and social policy, Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova expressed concern about the sale of baby formulas from the distributor "Nestlé" — the company OsOO "Forester".

She reported that despite the recall of the products, these formulas are still available at various retail outlets, including pharmacies. It is important to note that the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department had previously notified about the need to recall certain dry instant milk, fermented milk, and lactose-free formulas under the brands NAN, such as NAN 1 OPTIPRO, NAN OPTIPRO 2, NAN EXPERTPRO, NAN 2 OPTIPRO, PRENAN, and NAN LACTOSE FREE, with specific production dates.

The reason for the recall is the potential presence of the toxin cereulide in the arachidonic acid used in these formulas. Cereulide is a dangerous toxin produced by certain strains of the bacterium Bacillus cereus and can retain its activity even at high temperatures. Consumption of contaminated products can cause symptoms similar to food poisoning, including vomiting and diarrhea, as well as allergic reactions to cow's milk proteins.

It is worth noting that similar batches of Nestlé baby formulas have been recalled in countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
