At a meeting of the committee on constitutional legislation of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the need to create additional communication channels for citizens. He noted that the current costs of calls to state and municipal bodies, especially through "Kyrgyztelecom," are excessive.
According to Bekeshev, citizens face difficulties when trying to reach various government services, such as "Gorlifty" and "Electric Networks." Many of them only have landline numbers, and calls from mobile phones result in costs of 5 soms per minute. "When you call, you are told, 'Please hold for a minute,' but that 'minute' can stretch to 20 minutes, resulting in a person losing 100 soms just trying to get through," he added.
Bekeshev emphasized that the responsibility for the quality of services provided lies with the government bodies, and they must ensure accessible and modern communication channels for citizens.
The deputy proposed to require all state and municipal institutions to implement mobile numbers and to use platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram for more convenient communication.
According to him, "Kyrgyztelecom" is not interested in lowering tariffs, which should not be borne by citizens. "People should not have to overpay 100 soms just to reach a call center," Bekeshev concluded.
