According to the received information, the recalled products include dry instant mixes under the brands: NAN 1 OPTIPRO, NAN OPTIPRO 2, NAN EXPERTPRO, NAN 2 Optipro, PRENAN, and NAN LACTOSE FREE, with specific production dates. This step is being taken as a precautionary measure within the framework of a global voluntary recall, triggered by the potential risk of the presence of the toxin cereulide in the raw material, specifically in arachidonic acid.

The distributor has already begun the process of withdrawing these batches from retail outlets across the country. In this regard, the Department strongly recommends that consumers check the name and production date of their infant formula. If they match the recalled batches, they should stop using the product and contact the official distributor for its return.

Retailers are also advised to suspend the sale of the affected batches and ensure their withdrawal from circulation.

According to the manufacturer, the recall concerns a limited number of batches that may potentially contain the toxin cereulide. This toxin is produced by certain strains of the bacterium Bacillus cereus, it is resistant to high temperatures and is not destroyed by boiling. Consumption of products with high levels of cereulide may cause vomiting and diarrhea, which can resemble symptoms of food poisoning or an allergic reaction to cow's milk proteins.
