On January 25, 2026, at 11:35, the duty unit of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayil District received a report from the 112 service that a large cargo vehicle had caught fire on the 141st kilometer of the Bishkek–Osh highway. This was reported by the Interior Ministry of Chui Region.
After registering the information, an investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene.
During the investigation, it was established that the truck of the "MAN" brand belonged to O.K., born in 1981, who is engaged in private transportation of petroleum products.
On January 22, 2026, O.K. received an order to transport fuel and lubricants (AI-92 gasoline) from one of the companies operating in oil refining. The driver hired was K.A., born in 1989.
On January 25, at approximately 11:20, K.A., driving the truck and transporting 28 tons of petroleum products to the city of Osh, was heading south. O.K. was also in the cabin.
While driving, the front left tire of the vehicle burst, leading to a loss of control by the driver, and the truck veered into the oncoming lane, overturning. After that, a fire broke out, resulting in the vehicle being completely burned. Both individuals in the vehicle died at the scene.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue of the Jayil District Hospital, where necessary examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing.
It was also established that as a result of the fire, the petroleum products did not harm the environment, as no leaks were recorded — all fuel and lubricants completely burned at the site of the incident.
The Interior Ministry of Chui Region reminds drivers of the necessity to thoroughly check the technical condition of vehicles before long trips.
