The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region provided information about a tragic accident in Suusamyr, where a fuel truck overturned and two people died.
On January 25, 2026, at 11:35, the duty station of the Jayil District Internal Affairs Department received a signal from the 112 service about a fire in a cargo vehicle on the 141st kilometer of the Bishkek – Osh highway.
After registering the information, an investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene.
According to the police, the cargo vehicle of the MAN brand belonged to a citizen O.K., born in 1981, who was engaged in private transportation of petroleum products.
On January 23, 2026, O.K. received an order to transport AI-92 gasoline from one of the local enterprises engaged in oil refining, and a citizen K.A., born in 1989, was hired as the driver.
On the day of the accident, around 11:20, K.A. was driving the cargo vehicle, transporting 28 tons of petroleum products towards the city of Osh, when the front left wheel of the vehicle burst. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered into the oncoming lane, and overturned.
After the overturn, a fire broke out, resulting in the vehicle being completely burned, and the driver and passenger died on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the morgue of the Jayil District Hospital, where necessary examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing.
It is also noted that as a result of the fire, no environmental damage was caused, as no leakage of petroleum products was recorded – all fuel and lubricants burned on the spot.
The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region urges drivers to conduct a thorough check of the technical condition of their vehicles before long trips.
