More than 25,000 new trees have been planted in the protected areas of Kyrgyzstan

As part of the national initiative "Zhashyl Muras," significant activities for greening and restoring forest cover have been implemented in the protected natural areas of Kyrgyzstan. According to information from the Ministry of Natural Resources, in 2025:

- 16,450 seedlings of forest species were planted in state natural parks (GPP) over an area of 23.79 hectares;

- lessees in the territories of GPP contributed by planting 8,786 seedlings over an area of 15.3 hectares.

Thus, the total number of planted seedlings amounted to 25,236 over an area of 39.09 hectares.

Additionally, following the autumn inventory of 2025, 359,316 seedlings and young plants are being grown in nurseries of natural parks over an area of 7.1 hectares, of which 106,825 units are recognized as fully ready for planting.

The agency emphasizes that these activities contribute to strengthening ecological safety, preserving biodiversity, and restoring the natural ecosystems of Kyrgyzstan.
