At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agrarian Policy on March 16, the issue of greening the "Yntymak" park in Bishkek was discussed.

Deputy Azizbek Tursunbaev expressed dissatisfaction with the chaotic planting of trees, claiming that they were not only planted without a clear system but also do not provide the necessary shade. "The trees in the park are short, reaching only five to seven meters in height. How can people comfortably relax without shade? Compare this to parks in other countries," he noted.

In response to the criticism, Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev explained that the city administration was guided by expert recommendations when selecting tree species. Relevant conclusions were obtained from the forestry department, the Academy of Sciences, and the Botanical Garden.

Aliyev added that seven species of deciduous trees are recommended for planting in Bishkek, including linden, maple, and hybrid poplar. He also reported that a sufficient number of trees have already been planted in the "Yntymak" park, and further plantings have been temporarily suspended.

The Deputy Mayor acknowledged that some trees may have been planted without a strict plan, as many residents and organizations had previously suggested their ideas for greening this particular park.

The deputy called for the need for more careful maintenance of the trees and for thoughtful planning of the greening of urban areas.
