The Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, is organizing career guidance events for students from February 2 to 20, 2026, in educational institutions across the country.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Defense, the aim of these events is to develop a system of military-patriotic education among youth, to facilitate a conscious choice of profession, and to increase interest in military service, as well as in education at military educational institutions both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
"Students who have completed 9th grade can consider enrolling in the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum (KNML). Graduates of schools, lyceums, and colleges, as well as KNML, have the opportunity to continue their education at the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic or at foreign military educational institutions," the statement notes.
Currently, cadets from Kyrgyzstan are studying at more than 30 military educational institutions located in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China, as well as at the only Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek.
"In recent years, the prestige of the officer profession has significantly increased due to the improvement of material and social guarantees provided by the state. Cadets of military educational organizations receive quality higher education completely free of charge and are fully supported by the state," the statement emphasizes.
Upon completion of their studies, graduates of military educational institutions receive diplomas of higher education in their chosen specialty and guaranteed employment. Specialists with such a level of qualification are in demand both in the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and in the civilian sector.
Details about the admission process to military educational institutions can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic - www.mil.gov.kg, in the "Education" section.
