A meeting with university leaders on issues concerning international students was held at the Bishkek City Police Department.

In Bishkek, a meeting was held at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD) with the heads of universities, the press service of the capital's police reported on February 6.

During the meeting, issues related to the migration situation concerning foreign students studying in the capital's educational institutions were discussed, as well as the need to improve interaction between law enforcement agencies and universities.

Meeting participants noted that the police are recording violations of public order and migration legislation committed by foreign citizens, including students. In this regard, the GUVD emphasized the importance of adhering to rules such as having documents that confirm identity and legality of stay in the country.

Additionally, university leaders were recommended to enhance their efforts in informing and preventing issues among foreign students, as well as to establish systematic control over their compliance with migration regulations. It was also suggested to inform the police about cases of student expulsion so that law enforcement agencies could take necessary measures for their deportation.
