The President has initiated significant changes in the vehicle control system
Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, has approved an important reform regarding state control of motor vehicles. According to the amendments made to decree No. 388, the functions of technical inspection of vehicles will now be assigned to the Presidential Administration, instead of the previous structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the center of these changes will be the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing, which will replace the technical center previously subordinate to the State Traffic Safety Department.
According to representatives of the presidential administration, this reorganization is aimed at combating corruption and creating a transparent digital system.
The new rules came into effect immediately after their official publication.
It is expected that consolidating resources in one center will help stabilize service prices and improve road safety in the country.
