The Bishkek City Hall plans to acquire approximately 600 new buses, as reported on February 3 by First Deputy Mayor Mirlan Baigonchokov at a meeting of the permanent commission dealing with issues of the economy, budget, finance, and investments.

According to Baigonchokov, it is planned to purchase not 12-meter models, but more compact ones, about 8 meters long. This decision is due to the fact that the streets on the outskirts of the capital are too narrow for large buses, which cannot maneuver and turn in such conditions, the first deputy mayor added.

Currently, the city hall is actively seeking funding sources for this bus fleet acquisition.
